Orion Ornamental Iron Wins 3 Industry Awards

Orion Ornamental Iron, announced that it has recently won 3 prestigious industry awards: the WCMA award for Best New Style Concept in Drapery Hardware for its Designers’ Choice Iron Traversing Rods; the WOW Award for Mover and Shaker of the Year from Vision Window Fashions; and the Platinum ADEX award for Orion’s KBlair drapery hardware line.

Orion, a company long known for its iron finials and iron rods, also offers traversing drapery hardware in both iron and wood. These curtain rods are also available with motorization. Orion manufactures iron and wood drapery rods, as well as iron finials, resin finials, crystal finials, glass finials and wood finials. These wood and iron curtain rods are offered in 31 Iron Art finishes and 11 Wood Art finishes.

Orion Ornamental Iron,Inc“We want to offer custom drapery rods which meet our designers’ needs,” said Atul Patel, president of the drapery hardware company. “All of our traversing rods, both iron rods and wood poles, now automatically will come with heavy duty track. We are also pleased to offer motorization for all of our iron rods and wood poles. Now, regardless of the length of these iron rods or wood poles, opening and closing them will be easy for the customer, which is certainly a plus in today’s market.”

All Orion Ornamental Iron traversing drapery hardware is also now available either with or without rings. This is an industry first since normally heavy duty drapery rods are available only without rings.

Orion, which recently won 3 prestigious industry awards for its designer curtain hardware, is noted for the wide variety of curtain rods (iron rods and wood poles), traversing rods, resin finials, iron finials, crystal finials, glass finials, and also inlay rods.

“Orion is recognized in the industry for its drapery sets and drapery hardware, but especially for its iron rods and iron finials,” said Patel. “We offer custom curtain rods, including iron drapery hardware and wooden curtain rods. We also offer glass finials in our Provence Collection, crystal finials in our Bohemia Collection, resin finials in our KBlair Collection, and wood finials in our New York Wood Collection. These decorative finials are available for wood drapery rods and iron drapery rods in a variety of sizes and colors. And, of course, we are always happy to do custom drapery hardware work whenever it is requested.”

In 2008, Orion Ornamental Iron celebrated its 25th year in business by acquiring KBlair Finials, a 15 year old custom drapery hardware line which is noted for its crystal finials and resin finials. The company is particularly known for its inlay rods. These wood poles are available as traversing rods, with a focus on designer curtain hardware. “We feel that KBlair is a wonderful complement to the drapery hardware products which comprise the Orion line. The KBlair line offers decorative finials, decorative rods—including the beautiful Inlay Rods, and is well known for its diverse selection of resin finials and crystal finials,” added Patel.

Orion has recently expanded its heavy duty traversing rod line by introducing motorization for all of its designer curtain hardware, as well as its general window hardware lines. This means that decorative drapery hardware, including regular heavy duty traversing rods as well as drapery sets and drapery rods of all styles, will be offered in an extensive array of finishes and styles, all under the Orion name.

“We plan to increase our offerings of iron finials, glass finials, crystal finials, wood finials, and resin finials,” said Patel, “as well as different styles of decorative drapery hardware rods. Our focus will continue to be on iron drapery hardware, including iron rods and iron finials, but we also want to be recognized as a leading manufacturer of wood poles and traversing rods. We want to be known as the company who offers custom curtain rods, including wooden curtain rods and iron drapery hardware. It is our goal to match that variety with high quality finials and rods, outstanding customer service, and innovative decorative drapery hardware products.”
